PLUCK

A plucked string (Karplus-Strong). Struck by trig, it rings and dies by itself — no envelope needed. in is an exciter summed into the string, so anything in the rack can be the hammer. Bright strings ring longer than dull ones, as in life.

The PLUCK card as vimsynth draws it: its title bar, 5 knobs, 3 inputs down the left edge and 1 outputs down the right
PLUCK on an empty rack — 32×19 cells, knobs at their defaults. Press a in the app and pick PLUCK to get this card.

inputs

Down the left edge of the card, top to bottom.

trigtrigger
Strikes the string. It rings and decays by itself — no envelope needed.
v/octpitch
Pitch. 1.0 = one octave up.
inaudio
An exciter, summed into the string. Anything can be the hammer — a drum, a click, a whole voice. Turn burst to 0 and the string sounds only this.

outputs

Down the right edge, in the same order.

outaudio
The sound.

knobs

Left to right across the face — the dials in the picture.

tune-36 … 36 st= 0 st
Pitch offset in semitones.
decay0 … 1= 0.5
How long the note rings. Near 1.0 it sustains for many seconds.
damp0 … 1= 0.4
Tone: how much top is lost each lap. Low is bright and long; high is dull and short. In a string, brightness and length are the same thing.
burst0 … 1= 1
How much noise a trigger throws in. At 0 the string sounds only what is patched into in.
level0 … 1= 0.7
Output level.
