RING

Four-quadrant multiplier: x × y, signed. Ring modulation and amplitude modulation. Bell-like, metallic, inharmonic — this is not a variant of the VCA, it is the other half of a pair.

The RING card as vimsynth draws it: its title bar, 0 knobs, 2 inputs down the left edge and 1 outputs down the right — RING on an empty rack — 32×6 cells. Press a in the app and pick RING to get this card.

inputs

Down the left edge of the card, top to bottom.

xaudio: One signal.
yaudio: The other. Normals to 1.0, so an unpatched y passes x through untouched.

outputs

Down the right edge, in the same order.

outaudio: x × y. Inharmonic and bell-like unless the two are related.
